I knew very little about the process at the time, and yet working with Amrit over a few months I ended up with offers from Wharton, Ross ($80,000 scholarship), and UCLA (full-ride scholarship). I talked to half a dozen consultants – Amrit was the only one who pushed me to intentionally explore and articulate my career goals; he asked critical and insightful questions, and got to know my story outside of my work

Structured yet personalized approach: While the application process can be daunting, Amrit was able to ease the pressure by breaking down the process into achievable sub-tasks. There is never a lull/drop in the process as Amrit is prompt in his replies/feedback and was able to match my speed and energy. And while the process is structured, Amrit makes sure to bring out the personal and authentic aspect of the applicant.

Amrit’s guidance on crafting a solid resume and developing my career goals was exceptional. He helped me identify my strengths and presented them in a way that would resonate with any b school admissions committee. Amrit’s focus on the candidate writing everything down allowed me to think through my ideas and develop compelling stories to showcase my experiences and aspirations.

He is a perfect blend of friend and advisor. He ensures that you don’t feel the burden of the tedious application and makes it an easy and fun exercise. He also brings a lot of exposure to different industries and his own MBA stint. (for one application, I referred to his essay for inspiration). PS: he was my second call (after Dad) when I got admitted into my priority 1 school.

The thing that I liked about working with Amrit is how he has codified the process. He breaks down the process into smaller steps and only after completing these steps, we would move ahead. I enjoyed this bit because it helped me stay organized. On the essay front, we went through a lot of iterations before an essay was finalized. He doesn’t sacrifice on quality even if I was already on the 10th iteration.

Working with Amrit feels like talking to a friend. The conversations were very natural, sometimes jest-riddled, but always insightful. By going through my experiences, and sometimes challenging me to craft my stories from a different perspective, he helped me find a voice that let my personality shine through in the applications.

By the end of last year, I learned so much through his process and the journey and it didn't feel like a challenge. It just felt like I grew so much and I learned so much about myself and it was a truly memorable experience.

Will-Do Attitude: When I received interview invitations from B Schools, Amrit unfortunately was hospitalized with illness. Yet he did not let this affect our preparation. I still remember the time he (unexpectedly!) called me from the hospital so that we could practice a mock interview. I was mighty impressed – here was a professional who deeply cared for his clients.

Amrit truly practices a “NO BS” approach and helps bring a lot of clarity to the application process. His frameworks and strategy documents developed over his years of experience helped to consolidate all my experience and use examples in my essay that brought out a variety of strengths and weaknesses. He is strong at structuring essays and resumes and highlighting what the applications team really wants to see

Amrit is an effective storyteller and has a knack for identifying compelling stories. I initially connected with Amrit because of his pithy webpage and stayed with him for his no-nonsense, yet kind attitude, and expertise in helping candidates with complex profiles (in my case – an Indian candidate living in Canada wanting to study in the US).

Amrit lays great emphasis on the importance of differentiating application through honest and real self-reflection. This helped me in bringing out significant personal stories that have shaped me as a person and influenced my professional goals. He has the knack for cutting the flab in your essays and guiding you to write your story crisply and clearly.
