Amrit’s feedback is very straightforward and pragmatic. His patience and personal interest in you make him a perfect sounding board. Before you lose yourself in your version of a perfect world or self-doubt, he acts as a voice of sanity and yanks you back into reality making your application more authentic and genuine. Of course, the B-schools love it.

Amrit was very kind and understanding during the process, and helped me stay on course for application timelines through his specific feedback and personalized suggestions. His introspective style is what stood out the most for me: the introspection we did helped me not only in applying to business school but also in finding qualities that have shaped me into who I am today.

He can maintain the perfect balance of structure as well as freedom. He believes in calling a spade a spade and that is very important for the application process so that you don’t get ahead of yourself. To top it all off, he has a very friendly and humorous demeanor and in every call we would discuss cricket, making the entire application process fun!

Throughout this process, I found Amrit to be very methodical and rational, while also matching my ambition and enthusiasm. He demanded the very best of my efforts. He provided genuine feedback, be it ruthlessly cutting down excesses (or “waffle” as he calls it!) or helping me highlight my uniqueness. He also made sure that I held myself accountable for deadlines as I navigated a demanding 60+ hours work week.

Amrit will not accept your essays until he is 100% satisfied with it. I remember one incident where Amrit was going through one of the essays that we had worked on a few months ago and he wasn’t happy with it, so we fine-tuned the essay just a few days before the deadline.

My conversation with him made me realize what exactly all the other consultants lacked. Amrit had a genuine interest in my ‘success’. Not only did he have the knowledge and skills to help me, but also, we also defined what success would mean for me. He advised me on which schools to apply to while being open to what I thought.

Lastly, on a personal side, Amrit has a fantastic sense of humor and an authentic unfiltered communication style, which I frankly liked a lot as I could trust his advice and go all out with it without bothering for hypocrisy or ingenuine motives. I always felt he had my best interest in guiding me, even sometimes when he pushed me a lot as he was not satisfied with my input.

The best part about working with Amrit was that he always managed to bring out the best in you. He has a way of pushing you to introspect, dig deeper, and ensure that your most authentic, truest self is displayed in your essays. For an unconventional applicant like me, it was essential to have mind-blowing essays, essays that got me interview invites from schools such as Booth.

Nine times out of ten, I could book his time within 24 hrs. This way of working was convenient and allowed me to build a rapport and express myself. Having worked with several applicants, he brings an ability to identify what works for which school adcom and what doesn’t. Additionally, His brutally honest line-by-line feedback on several iterations also helped take the essays to the next level.

What stood out was that Amrit gave me very candid feedback at every step which helped me constantly improve on the quality of my application. He does not give a go-ahead unless he is 100% satisfied with the quality of a write-up which therefore sometimes meant a few more iterations than when I wanted.
